Get the Facts

Pornography is a real problem for Christians today.

Half of Christian men and a fifth of Christian women say they struggle with viewing pornography (ChristiaNet poll 2006)

Now is the time to get the facts, take action & change your life!

The facts

Pornography changes the way people think and ruins relationships.

Pornography consumption leads to an ever growing appetite for more graphic types of pornography and more extreme sexual activity. More people than ever, including Christians, are struggling with compulsive and addictive sexual behavior.

Using pornographic material also puts you at increased risk of:

  • developing sexually deviant tendencies
  • committing sexual offenses
  • accepting rape myths

Marriages affected

  • Decreased marital intimacy and sexual satisfaction
  • Devaluation of monogamy, marriage and child rearing
  • Increased marital distress, and risk of separation and divorce
  • 56% of divorce cases involve one party having an obsessive interest in pornographic websites
  • 70% of wives of self-identified sex addicts suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder

Children affected

  • 93% of boys and 62% of girls are exposed to pornography before 18
  • 79% of accidental exposures to Internet porn among kids take place in the home
  • 71% of teens hide their online activity from their parents
  • More than a quarter of UK boys (14-17) use porn at least once a week

Businesses affected

  • 30% said their work performance had suffered due to excessive porn use
  • 28% said their employees had downloaded sexually explicit content from the Web while working (Queen’s University survey of 350 businesses in UK, USA & Australia)
  • Half of all workers said they had been exposed to sexually explicit material by coworkers (Queen’s University survey)

Churches affected

  • 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography (ChristiaNet poll, 2006)
  • 37% of church leaders said viewing pornography was a “current struggle” (Leadership Journal survey, 2000)

Relationship with God affected

  • ‘You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.’ (Matthew 5v27-28 ESV)
  • ‘everyone who is sexually immoral or impure… has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.’ (Ephesians 5v5 ESV)
